Top 5 Wedding Trends for 2020

Weddings today are more unique and individual than ever before, with couples customising their day in endless ways from the location to the ceremony.

We’ve pulled together some of the top trends to keep in mind as you plan your 2020 wedding. You’ll find that these wedding trends are less specific and open to interpretation so you can take your own spin on them. After all, the things that make your wedding unique are the things that make them amazing.

1. Inclusive menus

Couples are being more thoughtful about inclusivity when it comes to every aspect of wedding planning, reception menus notwithstanding. Eats are going to check all the boxes in 2020. Vegetarian? No problem. Vegan with a nut allergy?  No problem. Be considerate of all your guests by offering up a variety of cuisines and drinks too (including delicious non-alcoholic drinks and mocktails is always a good idea).

Full vegetarian and vegan menus will become more common, firstly, for environmental reasons, and secondly, because the choice of delicious dishes is now so extensive and creative.

Here at The Park, we pride ourselves on our imaginative menus and our wedding packages are no exception. We know you want your day, your way, so we offer a variety of options for you to choose from.

2. Green vibes

Though keeping the environment in mind is something that should never be considered a "trend," more and more couples are making concerted efforts to lessen the impact their celebrations have on our planet. From locally sourced food to flowers, there’s lots to be considered if you’re opting for a ‘green’ wedding.

Our menus use only the very best available produce. We source our produce responsibly and use local South West suppliers wherever possible, so you can rest assured that our food is of the highest and freshest quality.

3. Second weddings

If it wasn’t quite right the first time, let's ensure you do it right the second time around.

Getting married again is a second chance to get your personal life back on the right track. Whether widowed or divorced, falling in love all over again and making a lasting commitment will hopefully seal your happiness for the future.

Second weddings tend to be more intimate occasions. Whether your wedding is a small intimate gathering or an exclusive celebration we can recommend the best options for you! Take your pick from our Park Suite or our Seasons Brasserie. Find out more about our venues here

4. ‘Happily Ever After’ parties

‘Happily Ever After’ parties are becoming increasingly popular as more and more people tie the knot abroad.  Our evening package works well for couples who just want a party for the guests unable to join them abroad. Whether you’re looking for a formal get-together or a casual buffet, you can trust us at The Park to pull off your party without a hitch.

5. Miniature weddings

Planning a traditional wedding takes a great deal of time and energy, so it’s no surprise that many people are overwhelmed just dealing with the pressures of day-to-day life; they simply don’t want the added stress of orchestrating a large event. Decision fatigue is real; a tiny wedding helps to alleviate some of that. There is an overall trend in the modern day towards minimalism and simplicity, and that goes for weddings too. If you’re one of the couples who are choosing to streamline their nuptials, trim the fat and go micro, get in touch with us today! We’ll be more than happy to tailor our wedding package to suit your needs, taste and budget.
