Top 5 family attractions in North Devon

As well as the beautiful beaches that surround us in North Devon,  there is plenty more to see and do in North Devon - perfect for those occasions when the weather fails us or if your family just fancy a change of scenery.

  1. The Milky Way

Recently voted #2 in Trip Advisors ‘Top Ten Amusement Parks in the UK’, the Milky Way Adventure Park has it all! Ride the Cosmic Typhoon Devon’s tallest, fastest, longest roller coaster. Have a wild time in North Devon’s biggest indoor adventure play area with assault courses, slides built for adults and children. Kick back and watch amazing live shows featuring Merlin from Britain’s Got Talent with his death-defying escapology show, plus fantastic displays from the North Devon Bird of Prey Centre.  With over 110,000 sq ft of indoor fun and plenty of outdoor activities, The Milky Way should be top of your list of things to do this summer. 

  1. The Big sheep

One of the UK’s most innovative & exciting family attractions ever, known for providing wacky and unique entertainment for all the family. This animal themed family amusement park abounds with all things sheep, with lamb feeding, sheep shearing and the world famous and hilarious sheep racing. But the Big Sheep has so much more. Their Ewetopia Indoor Playground is a great way to tire the kids for a few hours while you enjoy a cup of tea in the warmth of our cafe. Little ones will love their selection of toddler rides whilst big kids will enjoy their Rampage rollercoaster as well as Battlefield Live. 

  1. Quince Honey Farm

The all-new Quince Honey Farm in South Molton is just ‘bee-autiful’! Take a guided tour around the interesting displays and exhibits and learn fun facts about the honeybee before you take a closer look inside the working hives. Nowhere in the world can you get so close to living bees without needing protective equipment! The Play Hive adventure park is where you’ll find Critter Encounters and the large indoor soft play area. There is also an outdoor play and seating area for when the sun is shining.

   4. Skern Lodge Outdoor Centre

Skern Lodge Outdoor Activity Centre on the North Devon coast will give you a day or stay to remember, where adults and children alike will find fun, challenge, inspiration and laughter. Try an amazing range of sports delivered by trained staff. Activities include climbing, zip wire, archery, surfing, bodyboarding, and kayaking.

They offer an open programme for all the family where you can join by the day or half day during school holidays which make Skern Lodge one of our favourite family days out. 

   5. Watermouth Castle

With an enchanting mix of children's activities and nostalgic blasts from the past, Watermouth Castle appeals to kids from 1 to 100 years of age! 

The Victorian Castle with interesting displays is also home to a family theme park with rides, maze, dungeons, play areas and beautifully landscaped gardens.

A visit to the wonderful world of Watermouth Family Theme Park & Castle is a unique and magical experience the whole family can enjoy.
