1. Barnstaple Pantomime
December 13th 2019 - January 5th 2020
Mirror mirror on the wall, which is the fairest panto of them all?
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs has been unveiled as this year’s Queen’s Theatre Christmas Pantomime.
With elaborate scenery, costumes, and dazzling special effects, the annual Queens Theatre family pantomime is the perfect Christmas treat. With a star cast, live music, spectacular dance routines, and a hilarious script, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs have something for everyone, so go and join the fun and watch this totally “wicked” family pantomime.
2. Clovelly Christmas Light Switch On
December 1st 2019
Christmas lights in the village make this such a magical time at Clovelly. Starting at 3:30 pm, A local brass band leads the procession down to the harbour with festive Christmas carols sung along the way.
There’ll also be a hog roast, hot dogs and other refreshments available at the Harbour and Lifeboat Station and Father Christmas will make a surprise visit.
After the Carol Service, the switch is thrown and the entire village and harbour light up. See the village at its most sparkly - It’s a fantastic sight!
3. Christmas in Babbacombe Model Village
December 21st 2019 - January 2nd 2020
Enjoy the Model Village with some seasonal miniature scenes and sparkling illuminations from dusk.
Explore the beautiful gardens and creative model scenes, see if you can spot the mini Santa figures. Find your way through the crazy Christmas maze and don’t miss the magical 3D Toy Workshop film in our 4D theatre. You can also see Santa in the mini panto on certain dates.
4. RHS Rosemoor 'Glow' Garden Illuminations
15th November 2019 - January 5th 2020
Come and enjoy Rosemoor's Glow for its third year following a brand-new route that has now been extended to the lake for the first time.
Based in and around their Winter and Formal Gardens, they invite you to enjoy the magical illumination of the gardens in the depths of winter. See the hi-tech colour changing lights illuminate trees and shrubs making an amazing show to delight and enthral visitors, for a truly unique view of these stunning gardens.
If you've always wanted to explore RHS Gardens Rosemoor with a twist, this is the perfect opportunity!
5. Dartmouth Steam Railways’ Santa Express
December 2019 (TBC)
Calling all children - both young and old! You will arrive at Queen’s Park Station, Paignton (TQ4 6AF) for your return journey to Kingswear on the Santa Express. During your trip, you will be entertained by a two-part mini pantomime to get you in the festive spirit.
Father Christmas will visit you at your seat with his sleigh and band of merry helpers.
Whilst on the Santa Express adults will be offered a glass of mulled wine and a festive mince pie. Balloon modelling and lineside I-Spy ensure that every member of the family is involved in this truly magical experience.

6. Woollys Wonderland at The Big Sheep
1st December - 24th December 2019
Visit Woollys Wonderland at The BIG Sheep for a very special Christmas experience. Clicking their magical fingers, the elves haven’t stopped in their efforts to bring you a truly magical Christmas experience. They have been sprinkling glitter and spreading their dreamlike charm in readiness for the annual opening of Woollys Wonderland and these enchanting little elves are bursting to share their Christmas secrets and magical moments with you.
Come and meet Sanata at weekends until 24th December in the Grotto, see Santa’s Magical Light Show make the most of the Ewetopia Indoor Playground.
7. Santa’s Grotto and Elf Emporium at the Milky Way
7th December - 23rd December 2019
Don't miss out on a magical fun-filled festive family day out at The Milky Way Adventure Park this Christmas!
Kids will love the unique Buzzlewick's Elf Emporium - where Buzzlewick the elf and friends will be helping Father Christmas sort and load the children's letters ready for him to take back to the North Pole. They will also be helping the children to decorate yummy gingerbread straight from Mother Christmases kitchen and make reindeer food ready for Christmas Eve! Activities vary slightly depending on dates.
In addition to the festive fun, there’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained at The Milky Way this Christmas, including the new interactive Ziggy's Blast Quest, indoor Droid Destroyer dodgems, mini train ride, two rollercoasters and the huge Timewarp indoor adventure play area. Younger children will particularly love the innovative Little Stars play centre, with its soft play, sensory room for babies, dressing-up and role play pizzeria.

8. Barnstaple Christmas Fayre and Carol Service
December 2019 (TBC)
The annual Christmas Fayre and Carol Service is held in the historic Pannier Market.
Taking place between 6.30pm and 8.30pm, there will be a wide range of stalls dedicated to crafts, food and drink. Take the opportunity to pick up a special gift for special people, or enjoy a bite to eat and soak in the festive vibe.
The Carol Service will start at 6.45pm. Santa will also be attending and children will be able to meet him in his grotto.

9. The Big Sheep Christmas Markets
Saturday 7th, 14th & 21st December 2019
The markets will be held at The Big Sheep in Bideford on Saturdays 7th, 12th and 21st December.
Come and enjoy the social buzz of a fantastic country food market in their indoor barn. Free-range turkeys, handmade gifts, organic meats, sea glass gifts, sprouts on stalks, cheeses, cakes, fudge, handmade jewellery and Christmas trees are just some of the delights which will be on offer at one of the South West’s Biggest indoor Food Markets.
10. RHS Garden Rosemoor - Christmas Food and Craft Fair
15th - 16th December 2019
Enjoy the magic of Christmas at RHS Garden Rosemoor and make sure you don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity to buy those last minute Christmas food, gifts and decorations.
There will be a selection of fantastic Christmas goods to suit all tastes and pockets provided by a variety of independent local artisans and craft stalls, with carefully selected artisan traders from around the West Country, there is sure to be something for everyone.
Make the most of your day as you amble around our beautiful gardens. Stay on a bit later and experience the true magic of our Glow illuminations and enjoy a meal in their Garden Kitchen Restaurant (evening restaurant booking advisable).
11. Exeter Christmas Market
16th November - 19th December 2019
Showcasing the best of local and continental food, drinks, gifts, and crafts, the 2019 Christmas Market will take place on Cathedral Green in Exeter (approximately a 1-hour train journey from Barnstaple).
With traditional wooden chalets, it features a selection of crafts, fresh food and a lively atmosphere helped by delicious food stalls and Bavarian-style bars, Exeter Cathedral Christmas Market is inspired by German Christmas markets.
The Cathedral itself is a hub of activity at Christmas with its many carol services, concerts, events and education activities making it the perfect venue to experience the festive atmosphere both inside and out.
